The Rochester Local Section is strongly committed to outreach programs in the Greater Rochester Area. Here are a few areas we are active in. If you are interested in learning how to get involved, please fill out the form below.

Rochester Younger Chemists Committee
The ACS Younger Chemists Committee advocates for and provides resources to early-career chemists and professionals in the chemical sciences and related fields. If you are interested, find out more about what our Rochester Local Section of the YCC is up to.

Undergraduate Travel Grants
The Undergraduate Travel Grant Program provides funds each year to support travel for undergraduate students to attend a professional ACS meeting at which they will present their research as the presenting author in a poster or oral presentation.

Chemistry Olympiad
The U.S. National Chemistry Olympiad and the International Chemistry Olympiad are multi-tiered competitions that bring together the world’s most talented high school students to test their knowledge and skills in chemistry.

Project SEED
The Rochester Section of the American Chemical Society is an active participant in Project SEED which places economically disadvantaged high school students in academic, industrial, and government research laboratories for eight-to-ten weeks during the summer.
